Two thousand year old ruins mark the ancient town of Salonae just outside of Split. This city held court as the captial of the then Roman province of Dalmatia and was the actual birth place of Emperor Diocletian (hence his nearby gorgeous digs). What’s left now is a world renown architelogical gold mine.
