Cable Car

Last updated on Friday, 11 May 2018

The first cable car was built back in 1969. and was destroyed in the Homeland war 1991. It was rebuilt and opened again 19 years later, in July 2010. The ride to the upper station takes about 4 minutes in which you climb up to an altitude of 405 meters. Beside the view, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or dine at the restaurant Panorama.

Next to the upper cable station, the Fort Imperial houses the Homeland war museum - the museum of the Croatian War for Independence.

The upper station has three terraces equipped with binocular telescopes, a panoramic restaurant, a souvenir shop, restrooms with disabled access and an amphitheatre with seating for up to 120 people. The amphitheatre is available for hire for an event or a special occasion.

If you had the luck that the Northern Bura wind had been blowing for a while, do not miss the unique opportunity to go up and even see Lastovo and Korčula island which are over 100km away!.

You might find the ticket a bit expensive, but the cable car is simply a must for a complete visit to Dubrovnik, one of the most famous walled cities. + you can always buy a one way ticket and enjoy a walk down the twisty path beneath the fort Imeprial.
