Marin Drzic Theatre

Last updated on Sunday, 18 February 2018

The building itself was built in 1865 and housed the so called Bonda Theatre (after the investor) untill WW2.

In 1944. the Dubrovnik National Theatre was founded and began to function professionally. The theatre got its name from the most famed Croatian renaissance comedy writer.

Interesting fact: The painting on the ceiling of the theatre is a work of Vlaho Bukovac (1855-1922) and was painted in 1901.
