Museums in Split
The Archaeological Museum in Split is the oldest museum in Croatia and was founded in 1820.
The ethnographic museum of Split is housed in a building that itself already is of exceptional cultural and historical architectural significance.
Founded in 1997., the Croatian Maritime Museum combines a collection from the Split Maritime Museum and the Military Maritime Museum as well as several associated maritime heritage collections.
It is one of the oldest Croatian museums founded in 1893. with a goal to explore, collect, present and study the cultural remains of the Croats from the 7th to 15th century.
