Zadar region
The tourist region of Zadar comprises, on the one side, numerous islands and islets (inhabited as well as uninhabited ones) and, on the other, part of the coast, the region of Ravni Kotari, resembling a peninsula with the Velebit Range in its background. The peninsula, bounded in the north by the Paklenica Gorge and in the south by the river Zrmanja, abounds in highly pictoresque landscapes. Countless bays, coves and inlets provide additional scenic attracions.
It is precisely this highly indented coast, the ideal climate, variety of landscape, and particularly the heterogeneous coastline - from cliffs and rocks to pebble and sand beaches where the difference between the sea and land is almost obliterated - that attract every visitor, whatever he tastes or wishes.
