The Arsenal, which was built in the 16th century and expanded and upgraded in 1752. was a very important Venetian port warehouse.
The very demanding and strategical important tasks of the warehouse were construction of war and trade ships, arms production, rope and other marine production - basically anything for survival and supremacy of Venice, "the queen of the sees".
The Arsenal today
This is an approximately 1800 square meters large space of exceptional functionality
and flexibility imagined to be a closed city square - one of the centers of the public,
culture and entertainment, but also a place where a visitor can
get all the necessary information about Zadar, its history, tradition and
current tourist facilities, catering and supplies, and get
familiar with local products from the Zadar region.
The "Tourist-Information Arsenal" offer consists of an info point where, in one place, a visitor can get information about the culture, entertainment and traffic in the city.
