The Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb is the most moden and the largest museum in Croatia with its origins tracing back to 1954.

The Zagreb museum of Contemporary Art was established on December 21st in 1954 with the task of researching, documenting, and promoting events, styles, and contemporary art phenomena.
Most of the Museum's collection consists of Croatian and international artists active after the 50's. It also includes various donations made to the City of Zagreb.
The building has an area of more than 14 thousand squae meters, out of which some 3.5 are reserved for its permanent display and around 1-5 is designated for exhibitions. It also houses a museum shop, children’s workshop, library with a reading hall, a minor exhibition space, restaurant, and a multimedia hall on the ground floor. Exhibitions are located on the upper four floors.
