Is Centar Kaptol worth visiting?
Centar Kaptol is most useful if you want shopping, beauty products, books, a supermarket, cinema or a meal without travelling to one of Zagreb's large suburban malls.
It is smaller than destinations such as Arena Centar or City Center one, so it is better suited to a few hours of shopping and entertainment than an entire day. Its strongest advantage is location. You can walk here from the historic centre and continue sightseeing afterwards rather than spending time travelling to the outskirts of Zagreb.
What shops are in Centar Kaptol?
Centar Kaptol combines fashion with beauty, books, electronics, food, services and other lifestyle businesses.
Current stores include examples such as:
- dm - cosmetics, toiletries and household products
- Douglas - perfume and beauty products
- Hoću knjigu - books, gifts, stationery and board games
- Karla - footwear and accessories
- Max&Co. and Pennyblack - fashion
- Svijet Medija - electronics
- Konzum - supermarket
- Alfa Vision Optika - eyewear

Kaptol Boutique Cinema
Kaptol Boutique Cinema & WOW Bar is one of the centre's strongest lifestyle attractions. Located on the second floor, the cinema has five screens with comfortable seating and a more intimate design than a conventional multiplex. The cinema stays open later than the shops, with screenings and bar service continuing into the evening. This makes Centar Kaptol useful for dinner and a film even after the retail part of the centre begins to close.
Restaurants, cafes and terraces
Centar Kaptol is designed as much around dining and leisure as shopping. Restaurants, cafes and bars occupy parts of the centre and its landscaped outdoor spaces.
Two renovated terraces include:
- Kaptol Garden - the smaller green terrace
- Kaptol Dvor - the larger courtyard-style terrace
Supermarket and everyday shopping
A Konzum supermarket operates inside Centar Kaptol, which makes the centre useful for everyday groceries as well as fashion and leisure shopping.
