Jadrolinija’s car ferry Line 604 runs year-round from Split to Vela Luka (Korčula) and on selected departures continues to Ubli (Lastovo). The ferry carries vehicles and is the main direct car-ferry option from Split toward western Korčula and Lastovo.

The sailing takes about 3 hours from Split to Vela Luka. Continuing from Vela Luka to Ubli adds roughly another 1 hour 30 minutes. Not every departure continues all the way to Lastovo, so always check the Ubli column for your specific sailing.

Line 604 is a reservation route: when you buy a ticket for a selected departure, your place on that sailing is reserved. Jadrolinija’s general baseline for reservable routes is to be at the port at least 45 minutes before departure. With a vehicle in July and August, allowing around 60 minutes or more is sensible because traffic and loading queues at Split Ferry Port can slow you down.

2026 fare snapshot: Split ↔ Ubli adult €8.60-€11.50, Split ↔ Vela Luka adult €7.90-€10.80, and a standard passenger car €55.90-€73.70. Full 2026 fares are listed below.

This page covers the car ferry. Some Split-Korčula or Split-Lastovo search results refer to passenger-only fast ships or catamarans, which do not carry cars.

Tickets, reservations and vehicles

Line 604 is a reservable car-ferry line. Your purchased ticket reserves your place on the selected departure.

How early to arrive

  • Official baseline: be at the port at least 45 minutes before departure.
  • Vehicle in July/August: around 60 minutes or more is a sensible practical buffer because port traffic and vehicle loading can take longer.
  • Fixed summer plans: buy the sailing you want as soon as your date is fixed, because vehicle capacity is limited.

Vehicle documents

  • Have your vehicle registration/traffic-permit information ready when buying a vehicle ticket.
  • If you are using a rental car and do not yet know the registration number, follow the current Jadrolinija booking instructions; the booking system can accept RENTAL where applicable.
  • Choose the correct length and height category for larger cars, vans, campers and trailers.

Bicycles on vehicles

If bicycles are carried on a roof rack, declare the vehicle’s increased height correctly. Rear-mounted bicycles can increase the total vehicle length and should be included in the dimensions used for booking.

Boarding at Split Ferry Port

Split Ferry Port has multiple vehicle-ferry berths. Do not rely on a permanent pier number for Line 604.

  • Check the berth: use the Port of Split live departures and berths on travel day.
  • Vehicles: follow signs for Trajekt/Ferry and join the lane for Vela Luka/Lastovo.
  • Foot passengers: walk to the assigned passenger boarding point.
  • Parking: if you are leaving a vehicle in Split rather than taking it on the ferry, use our Split parking guide.

Vela Luka ferry port: not Korčula Town

Vela Luka is on the western side of Korčula Island. It is not Korčula Town, which is on the eastern side of the island.

  • Staying in Vela Luka: the ferry terminal is close to the town centre.
  • Staying elsewhere on Korčula: plan onward travel by car, bus or taxi.
  • Going to Lastovo: check the timetable carefully because only certain sailings continue from Vela Luka to Ubli.

Ubli ferry port: not Lastovo Town

Ubli is Lastovo Island’s main ferry port. It is a separate settlement from Lastovo Town, so most visitors need onward road transport after disembarking.

  • With a vehicle: drive onward from Ubli toward Lastovo Town and other island settlements.
  • Without a vehicle: check current local bus or taxi arrangements, particularly outside peak season.

If you are travelling without a car

Passenger-only catamarans may be faster on some routes and dates, but they do not carry cars or motorcycles.

Alternatives and connections

Approaching Korčula or Lastovo from southern Croatia with a car

If you are coming from Dubrovnik or Pelješac, another practical option is to drive to Orebić, take the Orebić-Korčula car ferry, drive across Korčula to Vela Luka and then continue to Ubli on a Line 604 departure that serves Lastovo.

Foot-passenger connections from Dubrovnik

Passenger-only routes from Dubrovnik can also connect Mljet, Korčula and Lastovo on selected dates. See the Dubrovnik to Mljet, Korčula and Lastovo catamaran.

For destination planning, see the Korčula travel guide.
