Troubadour Jazz Brasserie, long known as Troubadour Jazz Cafe, is one of Dubrovnik Old Town's best-known live-music venues. Located on Bunićeva poljana beside Dubrovnik Cathedral, it combines outdoor tables, drinks, food and regular live jazz in one of the city's most atmospheric small squares.

For many visitors, the best reason to come is still the same as it has been for decades: sit outside on a warm evening and listen to live music in the middle of historic Dubrovnik.

Troubadour Jazz Cafe today

The venue now operates under the name Troubadour Jazz Brasserie, although many travellers still know and search for it as Troubadour Jazz Cafe or Hard Jazz Caffe Troubadour.

Troubadour was established in 1978 by Dubrovnik musician Marko Brešković, a member of the well-known Dubrovački Trubaduri. Following a change of ownership in 2022, the venue is now operated by one of his sons, preserving the family's connection with the original Troubadour.

Live jazz at Troubadour

Live music remains the main reason to visit. Troubadour hosts jazz performances in the intimate setting of Bunićeva poljana, with much of the atmosphere centred around the outdoor tables during warmer months.

On lively evenings the music can draw people into the square as well as those seated at the tables. If having a seat matters to you, arriving earlier in the evening is a good idea, particularly during the busy summer season.

Performance schedules can change, so do not assume there will be the same live programme every night. Check the venue's current social channels if live jazz is the main reason for your visit.

Food and drinks

Troubadour is no longer simply a jazz cafe serving drinks. As Troubadour Jazz Brasserie, it now offers French- and Mediterranean-influenced food alongside wine, beer and other drinks, making it possible to visit for lunch or dinner as well as late-evening music.

The setting is still casual rather than formal. If you mainly want to experience the jazz atmosphere, coming for a drink is perfectly reasonable; if you want a meal, check the current menu because dishes and prices can change.

Where is Troubadour Jazz Cafe?

Troubadour is at Bunićeva poljana 2, immediately beside Dubrovnik Cathedral in the southern part of the Old Town.

From Stradun, walk towards the Rector's Palace and Cathedral. Bunićeva poljana is the small square beside the Cathedral, so the venue is easy to include in an evening walk through the Old Town.
